Rajkamal Mohanram's Blog

Potpourri of Stuff!

Well, well, well! Since this is my original work, I’m creating a separate page. If you had read the “About” page, you’d know that I’m an amateur poet. I’d like to share my poems on my blog. Who wouldn’t?

My very first poem – “Childhood Days” – Dated 11/11/2007

Now I’ve grown a little more…

Little more than a child

I’m between a child and an adult

The most crucial phase of life.

Now when I sit back and gaze at the sky

The time when sweet sung the bird

I am taken back to the childhood days

The days of happiness, the days of innocence

The days of natural joy, not pleasure

The days that were free from all sins

The days were ruled only by happiness and not worries

The days of unknown responsibilities

The days were all friendly to me

And the nights gave me wonderful dreams

It’s all over now and I can’t claim it back

And as I was dreaming, the time just passed

Suddenly the moon just fell into my sight

And wow, I now remember the time when my mom

Promised me that moon would come home, if I eat

So many days of such innocent thoughts

Has deserted me now and threw me into a plot

So that I learn that there’s much more than childhood

Now, dreaded with a pile of responsibilities

Thoroughly testing my potential

And reminding me that there is a goal to reach

Before I lay down and fall into eternal sleep. “
